Our homes are more than just shelter, they are places to be vulnerable, to feel safe, and to let our defenses down for a while. As a young adult — living with my parents — my grasp of a home is somewhat shaken. My parents’ house no longer feels the way it felt when I was younger. Now it feels like less of an abode and more of a staging area for the future. I feel as though I have no home yet, or perhaps no place feels like the home of childhood after a certain age. At any rate, many thing await me before I find a home that is really mine.
